Last December China’s state-owned oil company, Sinopec, recapped the results of a modestly scaled floating solar pilot project, aimed at producing green hydrogen from seawater. That’s kind of weird, considering the firm’s gigantic footprint in the petroleum industry. The FPV project is located in the eastern province of Shandong and covers nearly 60,000 square meters. KUQA, China, July 3, 2023 – China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (HKG: 0386, "Sinopec") announced that the Green Hydrogen Pilot Project ("Project") constructed by the company in Kuqa City of Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has commenced operation.
