Smart microgrid labor
The laboratory consists of a test network equipped with the latest technology required for low voltage network such as on-load tap changer transformer, energy storage systems, a photovoltaic system simulator, electric vehicle charging stations and experimental prototype devices. With a total installed power of 4 MVA, the microgrid laboratory is able to emulate 2 MVA of loads and 2. The research Center for Combined Smart Energy Systems (CoSES) at Technical University Munich (TUM) has been established with a laboratory facility that is capable of emulating a small microgrid that consists of heating, cooling, transportation and electric subsystem. Microgrids are community-scaled smart energy networks, and are enabling infrastructure for smart grid and other advanced energy technologies.
