Dabei handelt es sich um ein kombiniertes Solar-Brennstoffzellenkraftwerk des japanischen Technikkonzerns Panasonic östlich Kiotos. The Sunshine Project (1973–1992) explored the potential of solar power, geothermal power, liquefied coal, and hydrogen as primary energy sources. 4 im Verwaltungsbezirk Kyushu Kagoshima in Izumi erstreckt sich über eine Fläche von 24 Hektar. Japan is spearheading the development of two promising technologies to make optimal use of both the Earth and space and fully harness the Sun’s power as electricity: space-based solar power and next-generation flexible solar cells.
